Son died tragically, and the mother is unsure how to handle the MRTA

【On September 26, 2022, the moment I found out about the insurance payout, I was incredibly touched and tears fell unexpectedly from my eyes】

True Story (Part 3) Suddenly, a child dies, and the mother is unsure how to handle the MRTA (Mortgage Reducing Term Assurance) claim from the bank.

What kind of expression, gaze, and words can touch people's hearts the most? The answer is: looking at me with tear-filled eyes and saying with a choked voice:

"Boss, my child's insurance has been paid out, and the house payment of over 300k is no longer a burden. Thank you... Thank you... Thank you..."

Early this morning, Aunty came to my shop, clasped her hands together, and thanked me. At that moment, tears welled up in my eyes, and my throat choked, rendering me speechless.

One day in May 2022, a woman from the same hometown came to my shop with a distressed look on her face.

"My son recently died tragically. He had purchased a mortgage insurance policy from the bank, and the staff gave me several forms, telling me to take them to all the hospitals and clinics in the area to fill out. But I can't read, I don't speak Malay, and I don't know how to communicate with the doctors..." After the woman finished speaking, my old classmate continued:

"Han, can you be our consultant? Teach me how to handle it, and I'll take my sister-in-law to write the reports."

I immediately said, "Sure!" So, my old classmate and his sister-in-law immediately went to each hospital and clinic to see the doctors and write reports.

The process was very difficult. Some doctors were unfriendly and uncooperative, some refused to write because there were no medical records, some doctors needed to be seen several times before meeting, and two doctors refused to see family members, causing these two women a lot of trouble.

Of course, there were also many doctors who were very kind and quickly filled out the claim forms. One doctor was traveling abroad and wouldn't be back for a month.

During this period, Aunty felt very low-spirited, had no appetite, and couldn't sleep. Since the insurance for her child had only been in effect for a little over a year, the insurance company would surely conduct a thorough investigation. She was always worried that if the insurance claim was not approved, she would still have to pay the RM 300,000 ++ house payment!

"Aunty, it's okay, don't worry!" Obviously, my comfort couldn't alleviate her worries. Watching her become increasingly haggard and thin, I prayed and encouraged her in my heart.

More than two months later, in early July, we finally submitted over ten medical reports to the insurance company, awaiting good news about the claim. During this period, Aunty's stress made her lose her appetite and have trouble sleeping. She came to the office every week to ask about the claim, and I started to get nervous too, urging my assistant to track the news from the insurance company regularly.

On September 26th, while processing documents in the office, my assistant suddenly shouted excitedly:

"Boss, Aunty's child's claim has been approved!" Immediately, I called her to deliver the good news. On the phone, her voice trembled, weak, surprised, and filled with tears of joy: "Really? It's really approved?" I told her, "Yes, it's true. I've printed out the compensation letter. You can take this letter to the bank to process the mortgage procedures."

A few days later, Aunty came to the shop with her young son and two daughters, tears streaming down her face, to thank me. That scene from that moment is still deeply imprinted in my mind even today.
